I had a left hip replacement on 17th February 2023. My right hip replacement was carried out November 2019, both by James Gibbs. The care I had was excellent at the Nuffield in Haywards health and by mr Gibbs. I would certainly recommend anyone needing this treatment to use mr Gibbs.

2 weeks on from a total hip replacement and I’m recovering very well. I’m so grateful to Mr Gibbs for his excellent surgical skills and caring manner. The whole experience from initial consultation to post op follow up has been faultless.
A mention too for all the hospital staff who have looked after me so wonderfully.

Mr Gibbs performed an arthroscopy on my knee. The difference is tremendous and my treatment has been problem free. I couldn't believe that I could walk out of the hospital without crutches, etc. and although it takes time, it's not painful at all. Thank you

He regularly manages hip and knee conditions along with sports injuries. He performs above average numbers of hip and knee replacements including Robotic surgery, partial knee replacement and hip resurfacing. He is also a specialist in redo joint replacement surgery. He also performs key-hole surgery and ligament reconstruction for soft tissue and sports injuries. He has an interest in joint preservation treatments for arthritis such as visco-supplementation and corrective osteotomy surgery.
He has been an NHS Consultant at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust since 2011.
